Los Angeles turned a good effort from starter Chih-Jung Liu into a win over the Las Vegas Athletics at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The final score was 3-2. Picking up the save was fan favorite Max Gieg. The Angels improved their record to 36-36 with the win over Las Vegas.

Adrian Placencia hit a 2-run home run off Jose Suarez in the bottom of the third, which put the Angels ahead, 2-1. In addition to the homer, Placencia had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Los Angeles manager Bill Webb said.
