Cubs Suffer 6-3 Setback
|
St. Louis pitcher Tink Hence did his part in helping his team beat the Chicago Cubs, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Diego Castillo came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 6-3. St. Louis's winning streak has reached 6 games.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Alec Burleson? The St. Louis left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cardinals on top, 3-0. For the game, Burleson had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Hitting, winning. It's just contagious," said Burleson.
