Phillies Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Orioles
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
The Baltimore Orioles took Philadelphia pitcher Yoendrys Gómez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The final score had Baltimore getting past the Phillies, 7-6. Gómez went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. The winner was Baltimore reliever John Brebbia, now 3-2. The loser was Ranger Suarez.
The Orioles relied on second baseman Connor Norby for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 17th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring double to seal the deal.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Orioles manager Ron Chiu.
With the win, Baltimore upped its record to 42-29.
