Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians.
The Cleveland Guardians got a superb performance from pitcher Kevin Gausman, but the Minnesota Twins still won the game, 4-3. Gausman threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Getting the save was Alex Scherff, his 23rd.
Minnesota used a timely hit from José Miranda to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Twins ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Miranda, "and then get after it again."
The first-place Twins sport a record of 36-32.
