Bellinger Slugs 2 Home Runs, Cubs Beat Reds, 10-4
|
The umbrellas came out during the Chicago-Cincinnati contest at Great American Ball Park.
The Chicago Cubs topped the Cincinnati Reds, 10-4, the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Cody Bellinger. On the day, Bellinger went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Cubs. The winning continues for Chicago, with the latest making it 7 straight.
Chicago relied on the hitting of Nico Hoerner to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Cubs on top, 2-0. For the game, Hoerner had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Paul Husch.
