The Texas Rangers licked the Los Angeles Angels, 8-4. Anthony Gutierrez deserved a big chunk of the credit. The left fielder went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for the Rangers. Camilo Doval sewed up the save, his 8th. The loss makes Los Angeles 29-33.

Victor Acosta went 2-4 with 2 singles for Texas. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Chih-Jung Liu. It was his 53rd hit of the season.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Gutierrez.
