5-1 Win Gets Minnesota to 33-27
|
The Minnesota Twins topped the Houston Astros, 5-1, in American League action at Minute Maid Park. The standout performance belonged to Minnesota pitcher and Cedar Park, Texas, native Chris Paddack. The winning pitcher was Paddack, now 6-3. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. With the win, Minnesota pushed its record to 33-27.
Wilson Maldonado went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Minnesota. The 27-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Shawn Dubin. It was his 48th RBI of the season.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Maldonado.
