The Washington Nationals stopped the New York Mets, 8-3, behind an impressive performance from Brady House. The 25-year old third baseman made life miserable for New York pitching. He was 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Frankie Montas, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in wins with 7, was the winner. He's now 7-2. The loser was Darwin Rodriguez. Washington has a record of 25-35, placing them last in the National League East Division.

In the bottom of the second inning, the Nationals grabbed the lead when Robert Hassell III rapped a two-out single. Washington was trailing 2-1, when Hassell III hit a 2-run single off Darwin Rodriguez to put his team in front, 3-2.

Hassell III called the win "a pick-me-upper."
