The Washington Nationals had no problem beating the Atlanta Braves, 17-1, at Truist Park. Chase Strumpf led the way. He was 2-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 6 for Washington. J.T. Ginn, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Washington occupies 4th place in the National League East Division at 28-30.
In the top of the fourth, Washington shortstop Armando Cruz had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Cruz stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 3-1, Washington. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs.
