Washington Beats Atlanta, 4-2
|
The Washington Nationals stymied the Atlanta Braves, 4-2, at Truist Park. Victor Robles had a good day at the plate. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Washington. Alex Troop got credit for the win, improving to 5-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. DJ Herz picked up the save for Washington, his 15th of the year.
Washington used a timely hit from Alex Call to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Nationals ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Washington manager Joe Bubanj.
Washington, now 26-28, holds down 4th place in the National League East Division.
