Braves Walk It Off for 28th Win of Season
|
The Atlanta Braves topped the Washington Nationals, 4-3, in National League action at Truist Park. The standout performance belonged to Atlanta pitcher and New Bedford, Massachusetts, native Jared Shuster. Luis Soto, now 2-3, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 1. The victory gives the Braves a record of 28-26.
Orlando Arcia was the walk-off hero for Atlanta. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Braves third baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
Washington manager Joe Bubanj said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
