Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Rockies
|
The performance of Xi-tong Hsueh proved critical in helping Colorado beat San Francisco, 4-3. The Rockies second baseman went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs. By defeating San Francisco, the last-place Rockies improved to 23-32.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With no one out, Hsueh hit a fastball from Josh Bostick for a run-scoring single. The Rockies, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Anyone who says he's not out there thinking about personal accomplishments is not telling the truth," Hsueh said later.
