Reds Drop Contest, 6-4, to Los Angeles
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers handed the Cincinnati Reds a loss at Great American Ball Park. The final score was 6-4. Juan Soto made the highlight reel for Los Angeles. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 1. He also added 2 bases on balls. Alex Vesia earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Earning his 19th save for Los Angeles was Brusdar Graterol.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Gavin Lux to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dodgers on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I expect to carry this team on my shoulders at times," said Soto.
The win gives Los Angeles a season record of 34-20.
