Dodgers Top Mets 2-0 to Begin LCS
|
Jeff Holland and the Los Angeles Dodgers opened the League Championship Series in brilliant fashion today, traveling to New York and shutting out the host Mets at Citi Field 2-0 to secure an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Holland, the Dodgers right-hander, threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball.
Holland gave Los Angeles a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 7 innings.
"The old adage is true," said Holland. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Citi Field in New York.
