RF Pingel Lights Up Twins for 6 RBIs as Yankees Tie DS
With right fielder Tim Pingel leading the charge, the New York Yankees defeated the visiting Minnesota Twins, 7-5, in Game 2 of the Division Series today. Pingel was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 6 runs and scored once at Yankee Stadium to help New York force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fifth when Pingel, who finished 5th in the AL in RBI with 130 in 2032, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Yankees into the lead, 6-5.

"Every team in baseball loses," Twins manager Scott Austin said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Target Field in Minneapolis.
