Marlins Keep Clicking, Win, 10-2
|
The Miami Marlins got a stellar performance from pitcher Keegan Akin, who handcuffed the New York offense en route to a win, 10-2, at loanDepot Park. The first-place Marlins have won 6 consecutive games.
Hector Rodriguez, who is tied for 6th in the NL in runs scored with 35, took New York hurler Layonel Ovalles deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Marlins on top, 2-1. In all, Rodriguez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"When you don't put the pitches where they're supposed to be, they hit you hard," said New York skipper Sal Gaudio.
