Angels Lose to Astros, 7-1
|
The Houston Astros got a stellar effort from pitcher Jaime Melendez, helping Houston score a win over the visiting Los Angeles Angels, 7-1. The triumph puts Houston at 25-23 for the season.
The Astros got a big at-bat from catcher Yainer Diaz. For the game, Diaz went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Houston a 3-0 lead.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Melendez told the Houston Herald. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
