The Seattle Mariners started the Division Series in style, winning on the road against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park by a score of 7-6 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Mariners right fielder Cody Bellinger excelled. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Corbin Carroll? The Seattle left fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mariners on top, 6-5. For the game, Carroll had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Seattle manager Andres Wray.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Comerica Park in Detroit.
