Las Vegas Wins, 9-2
|
The Las Vegas Athletics knocked off the Toronto Blue Jays, 9-2, at Rogers Centre. Jacob Wilson was a big reason Las Vegas won. The third baseman went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He scored 3 runs. T.J. Sikkema, the winner, improved to 3-3. He held Toronto to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Toronto has now lost 4 straight.
Helping the Las Vegas cause was Esteury Ruiz. In the top of the fourth, the 28-year old right fielder had a run-scoring walk to make the score 2-0, Athletics.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Ruiz. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
