Westburg Homers Twice in 6-5 Win
|
The Baltimore Orioles dealt the Houston Astros a 6-5 loss at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Jordan Westburg, who is tied for 7th in the AL in home runs with 10, was the star on offense. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Baltimore reliever Welinton Herrera got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Luis Aguilar was tagged with the loss. Baltimore has an impressive 29-14 record.
Had Matthew Etzel not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Etzel hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Orioles.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Houston manager James Woolsey. "The effort was great."
