Angels Rally to Nose Past Minnesota
The Los Angeles Angels besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Minnesota first baseman Wilson Maldonado by beating the Twins, 7-6, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Maldonado went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The Angels, at 24-16, sit in first place in the American League West Division.

Los Angeles got a clutch hit from Shohei Ohtani. The designated hitter socked a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was game-ender.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Ohtani said in his postgame press conference.
