Rangers Pick Up 4-1 Road Win Over Oakland
|
The Texas Rangers went home winners at Oakland Coliseum, thanks in large part to starter Kumar Rocker. Rocker stifled the Oakland Athletics, enabling Texas to grab the 4-1 win. Rocker, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up 4 walks. With the win, the Rangers sit at 20-18.
Texas relied on the hitting of Jake Johnson to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rangers on top, 3-0. For the game, Johnson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
