Nationals Beat Blue Jays, 4-2
|
The Washington Nationals and Toronto Blue Jays played an exciting game.
Though he had a great game, George Springer could not single-handedly produce a win for Toronto. Washington won the game, 4-2. Springer was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Tanner Rainey in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ricky Tiedemann took the loss.
Making an impact for the home team was Jack Dunn. In the bottom of the fourth, the 27-year old third baseman had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 4-2, Nationals.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Washington manager Joe Bubanj.
The Blue Jays, now 15-20, have lost 4 in a row.
