Senga Lays Hammer Down in 1-0 Win
|
The New York Mets got a magnificent performance from pitcher Kodai Senga, who stifled the Chicago offense en route to a 1-0 Mets win at Citi Field. Edwin Díaz got credit for the save for New York. It was his 9th of the year. New York is now 21-11.
Senga subdued the Chicago offense. The New York right-hander allowed a mere 4 hits over 8 innings, while fanning 12. His season record goes to 3-3 with the win.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said New York manager Dave Gawron.
