Astros Take Nail-Biter Over Guardians
|
Starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. pitched well enough to help the Houston Astros beat the Cleveland Guardians, 6-5. After losing, Cleveland is 10-20.
The Astros procured the win, in large part because of catcher Yainer Diaz. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Astros manager James Woolsey.
