The Houston Astros went down to defeat to George Kirby and his Seattle teammates. The final score was 4-1, in favor of the Mariners. The winner was Kirby. He threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Justin Verlander. Seattle, now 11-7, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The Mariners got a big at-bat from designated hitter Randy Arozarena. For the game, Arozarena was 2-4 with a triple and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
