Reds Get Hard-Earned Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers, Tarik Skubal, who finished 2nd in the NL in wins with 16 in 2025, proved to be the difference. The Cincinnati left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Reds win. The Brewers drop to 8-9 and continue their mediocre start to the 2027 season.
Cincinnati needed the clutch hitting of Noelvi Marte to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Reds on top, 2-1. For the game, Marte had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Tarik throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Cincinnati manager David Bell.
