Mets Sunk by Nationals
|
Despite a fine performance by catcher Francisco Alvarez, the New York Mets lost to the Washington Nationals, 7-4. Alvarez was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Keegan Akin earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game. The Nationals, now 6-2, have hit the ground running this season.
Brady House hit a 2-run double off Kodai Senga in the bottom of the first, which put the Nationals in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, House had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.
"We take it day by day here," said House, "and today was a good one for us."
