Esteury Ruiz was a vital contributor to the 6-5 Toronto victory over Tampa Bay. The Blue Jays center fielder was 5-5 with 2 doubles and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Toronto reliever Camilo Doval picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Ovídio Morais was saddled with the loss. The 'W' lifts Toronto's record to 71-84.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Ruiz hit a cutter from Ovídio Morais for a run-scoring double. The Blue Jays, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
