St. Lucie Befuddled by Lindley in 18-0 Loss
Monday, August 21st , 2045
In an outstanding outing, Palm Beach Cardinals starter Brendan Lindley tamed the St. Lucie Mets with a 5-hit shutout at Roger Dean Stadium. The Palm Beach hurler went the distance, finishing with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 18-0 win.
"He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to St. Lucie manager Russell Young. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
In 26 starts this season, Lindley has picked up 13 wins while suffering 5 losses. He has pitched 187.1 innings, allowed 185 hits, struck out 182 and posted a 2.74 ERA.
