Swing! Swang! Swung! Folkes Smashes 3 HR Thursday, August 2nd , 2046 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Altoona right fielder Kory Folkes tripled up on the home runs to propel the Curve to a win, 11-4, at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," New Hampshire manager Dan Cargill said. "Folkes hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Folkes collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Kory Folkes hit a solo-shot off Danny Falquez in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Danny Falquez in the 5th, walked in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Mike McCarthy in the 9th. Batting .290 to date, Folkes has 11 home runs and 39 RBIs. |
