Lucci Strokes 5 Hits
Monday, September 10th , 2040
After a 5-hit effort to lead Los Angeles's 5-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies, left fielder Kareem Lucci told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Major League Baseball-level is really something special."

The 25-year-old player earned his accolades today at Angel Stadium of Anaheim with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Rockies.

"His swing is getting there," said Angels skipper Jeff Baker, who spoke glowingly of Lucci after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Kareem did that to perfection today."

Kareem Lucci doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Nate Travis in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.

So far this season Lucci has hit .269 with 37 home runs, 75 RBIs and scored 71 times.
