Bonadona Gets NL #1 Pitcher Trophy Saturday, September 1st , 2040 New York Mets starter Mike Bonadona has collected the National League Pitcher of the Month award for a run of lights-out performances. "This town really appreciates it when you're going well," said Bonadona. "They might boo you when you're getting knocked around, but they love you when you're mowin' them down." In August the 31-year-old compiled a 6-0 record in 6 starts with a 1.29 ERA. He threw 49 innings, fanning 51 while walking 12. Over the season Bonadona has thrown 230 innings and dished out 261 strikeouts with a 16-9 mark and a 3.05 ERA. |
