Malagon Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Monday, August 13th , 2040 The Texas Rangers fell to the Oakland Athletics in Globe Life Field today, even as 28-year-old left fielder Mike Malagon upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Malagon finished with 2 hits in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Rangers from dropping the 5-3 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Malagon. Mike Malagon hit a solo-shot off Mike Pittner in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. This year Malagon is batting .302 with 16 home runs and 50 RBIs. |
