Bears Prevail, as League Championship Series Goes to the Wire Sunday, May 15th, 2022 The fans in Baylor are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Vanderbilt. The Baylor Bears finished off the Vanderbilt Commodores 7-5 in the deciding game of the League Championship Series played at Mustangs Stadium. They took the series 4-3 and will now head to the World Series. For his standout play, Baylor center fielder Robby Ming was voted the series' Most Valuable Player. He batted .517, drove in 17 runs and scored 9 to lead his club to victory. "We could never really figure out how to pitch to Ming and that doomed us," said Commodores manager Fidel Pena. "Hats off to Baylor, though. That was a great series." The Baylor Bears will play against the Virginia Cavaliers in the next round. Virginia won their series against the Louisville Cardinals 4 games to 0. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. View Boxscore |
