3 Home Runs for McKinnon Saturday, April 9th, 2022 Josh McKinnon was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 20-5 Leesville Road Pride triumph at Ballpark of Anchorage HS today. The 15-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Pride past the Cheyenne Sixers. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," McKinnon told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The center fielder went 3-for-5, rung up 8 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day. Josh McKinnon hit a two-run home run off Mike Hamby in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Sam Stieglitz in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Chris Whitaker in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, walked in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. In the current season, McKinnon has put up a .263 batting average with 36 hits, 23 home runs, 52 RBI and scored 42 runs. |
