Minnesota designated hitter Josh Jessee was sensational. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Kansas City beat the Twins, 8-5. Pat Wylie earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 1-1. For Minnesota, now 18-8, wins have been plentiful, losses few.

Kansas City used the clutch hitting of Mike Parker to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Royals ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Parker told the Kansas City Gazette.
