Dodd Raps Corpus Christi for 5 Hits
There was no storybook ending. Charlie Dodd of the Amarillo Sod Poodles socked it to the visiting Corpus Christi Hooks with a terrific 5-hit game, but his team didn't get the win. The Sod Poodles fell, 13-3, at Hodgetown.

"I don't want to sound ungrateful, but something is missing here," Dodd complained following the loss. "When you have a great game you should win the game, too."

He definitely had an unforgettable day in the batter's box, ripping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Amarillo manager Acku Abdul sympathized with his left fielder, telling BNN reporters after the game that "Charlie played a whale of a game, but sometimes individual brilliance is not enough."

Charlie Dodd singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

For the year, Dodd has hit .324 with 7 home runs, 61 RBIs and scored 102 runs.
