Evans Gets 5 Hits
|
The Altoona Curve stopped the Akron RubberDucks by a score of 6-3 at People's Natural Gas Field today, with the lion's share of the credit going to third baseman Kareem Evans. The 21-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Evans said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Evans did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the RubberDucks.
"Not much that I can say," offered Akron manager Steve Doetsch. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Kareem Evans singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
In the 2040 season Evans is hitting .297 with 3 home runs.
