Mitchell Slams 5 Hits for Erie
Mike Mitchell exploded for a barrage of base hits at People's Natural Gas Field.

The Erie right fielder had a field day in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Altoona Curve, finishing 5-for-5.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Mitchell must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Mike Mitchell hit a two-run home run off Danny Lamb in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.

This season, Mitchell is batting .273 with 3 home runs. He has scored 20 runs and driven in 16.
