Rays Improve to 80-77 with 3-2 Win
In a low-scoring tilt between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Texas Rangers, Chris Mendosa, who is tied for 5th in the AL with a 10.0 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. The Tampa Bay right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The win for the Rays raised their record to 80-77.

Jim Ward helped out the Tampa Bay cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Mendosa said.
