Toronto Roughed Up By Twins
|
The first-place Minnesota Twins picked up another win.
A 4-RBI performance from center fielder Edwin Holguin, who is tied for 9th in the AL with a .855 OPS, led the Minnesota Twins to a win over the Toronto Blue Jays, 9-1. The winner in relief was Henry Rivera. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings.
In the bottom of the first, Minnesota left fielder Brad Putney had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Putney stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 2-0, Minnesota. For the game, he was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Holguin.
With the victory, the Twins upped their record to 100-55.
