Giants Edge Brewers, 3-2
|
The San Francisco Giants got a stellar performance from pitcher Daniel Stubbs, who handcuffed the Milwaukee offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Miller Park. Stubbs, now 11-9, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The third-place Giants have a record of 66-72.
It could have been a different outcome for San Francisco, had it not been for Justin Talley, the 26-year old right fielder . Talley contributed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put San Francisco up, 3-0.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Stubbs.
