Chicago Loses, 7-6, in 12
|
Behind the hitting of Alex Rogel, the New York Mets stopped the Chicago Cubs, 7-6. Rogel was 3-6 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Mets. New York reliever Jake Patton picked up the win to move to 5-1. Danny Poteet suffered the loss. With the win, New York raised its record to 72-62.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With no one out, Rogel hit a fastball from Danny Poteet for a solo home run. The Mets, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It feels good to get this one," Rogel told the New York Today.
