Phillies Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Philadelphia Phillies sent the home crowd home ecstatic.
Philadelphia pitcher Jon Sokol did his part in helping his team defeat the Cincinnati Reds, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. The win went to Jose Moncada in relief. His record improves to 3-5. Jaden Cox took the loss.
Jeremy Turner was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Phillies shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We've got to get out of this funk," said Cincinnati manager .
Philadelphia is now 50-85, Cincinnati 56-80.
