The Seattle Mariners pinned a convincing loss on the Texas Rangers, 16-2, at T-Mobile Park. Ben Cousins was a main factor in the win. He went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 6 for Seattle. By defeating Texas, the third-place Mariners improved to 60-69.

Bob Jacobsen hit a 3-run home run off Sebastien McFarland in the bottom of the first, which put the Mariners ahead, 3-0. In addition to the homer, Jacobsen had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Seattle manager Dexter Rousseau.
