Tanner Schools Arizona in 2-0 San Francisco Triumph
|
Starting pitcher Dan Tanner gave the San Francisco Giants a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 2-0, at Oracle Park. Randy Demorest earned the save, his 32nd in 34 tries. The Giants win now puts them at 64-62.
Tanner, who dominated for San Francisco, earned the victory to move to 5-1. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 7. Arizona batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Tanner.
