Reds Deal Pirates 14-10 Loss
|
The inspired effort of Pittsburgh designated hitter Oscar Aguilar was not enough to prevent a loss, 14-10, to the Cincinnati Reds. Aguilar was 5 for 8 with a double, 4 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Today's win puts Cincinnati at 55-69, while Pittsburgh falls to 70-53.
Bobby Maki went 1 for 5 with 5 walks, while scoring 2 times for Cincinnati. The 26-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the 19th. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 10-10 tie with a run-scoring walk off Shaun Key. It was his 63rd walk of the season.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Reds manager .
