Ferral drives in 3 runs to Power Mariners Offense
|
Getting a good performance from shortstop Orlando Ferral, the Seattle Mariners defeated the Detroit Tigers, 10-5. Ferral went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Mariners. Picking up the save was Jonathan Hoover. He's now 1 for 1 in save chances. The Mariners improve their record to 60-64 with the win over Detroit.
Ferral had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count splitter from Steve Day, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Mariners a 7-4 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Ferral.
"We came out aggressive," said Mariners manager Owen Spiwak. "We came out swinging the bats."
