Landaverde Shines in 14-7 San Francisco Win
The San Francisco Giants downed the Texas Rangers, 14-7. The hitting star was second baseman Luis Landaverde. Landaverde went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 and driving in 2 for the Giants. Raul Lugo picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Mike Stoffer suffered the loss. San Francisco now owns a record of 60-60.

In the top of the fifth, Dan McEnroe delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the San Francisco catcher hit a 3-run home run, putting the Giants in front, 14-7.
