San Francisco Downs Texas, 8-4
|
Globe Life Field was the site for National League action featuring the Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants.
The San Francisco Giants powered past the Texas Rangers, 8-4, at Globe Life Field. Andy Shearer provided some of the pop. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Randy Demorest picked up the save, his 30th.
San Francisco used the hitting of Brad Michalski to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Giants on top, 6-3. For the game, Michalski had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's still just a game," said Shearer, "whether you win or lose."
San Francisco, now 59-60, holds down third place in the National League West Division.
